The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a joint public meeting regarding two proposed projects
in Cornelius and Davidson. Project U-5873 proposes to improve the N.C. 115 (Main Street) / Potts Street
intersection, potentially including a roundabout. Project U-5907 proposes to extend Potts Street to Sloan
Street, including adding a multiuse trail on Potts Street from N.C. 115 to Griffith Street, and adding a
roundabout at the Sloan Street / Griffith Street intersection. The meeting will take place on Thursday,
October 5, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cornelius Town Hall, Assembly Room located at 21445
Catawba Avenue in Cornelius.

The purpose of these projects is to improve connectivity, improve traffic operations, and provide
transportation alternatives through Davidson and Cornelius. The purpose of the public meeting is for
NCDOT representatives to provide information and answer questions regarding the proposed project.

The public may attend at any time during the above mentioned hours. NCDOT representatives will be
available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. The opportunity to submit
written comments will also be provided at the meeting or via phone, email, or mail by October 19, 2017.
Comments received will be taken into consideration as the project develops. Please note that no formal
presentation will be made.
