Hough High School Bands Fundraiser
Give a hoot, buy some fruit!
The annual fruit fundraiser is underway that supports the Bands of William A. Hough High School. This year’s sale features some new selections, like pears, red delicious apples, and Hamlin juice oranges. All of our favorites – pink grapefruit, navel oranges, tangelos, and mandarins – are available, again, this year. Don’t worry if you can’t decide what you like best. You can buy a box of mixed navel oranges and grapefruit or get a box of citrus delight (navel oranges, grapefruit, and tangelos), but you need to act fast because the sale ends October 10. Fruit will be delivered to the school during the first full week of December and the students will deliver orders to your door within a day or two after the fruit arrives.
Orders can be placed online by clicking on this link and then clicking on the “Order Online Now!” picture at the top of the webpage. Please use “Ship to Organization” for delivery method and select the name of your favorite band student in the “Which seller would you like to credit for this order?” section at checkout. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
The Hough Marching Husky Band, led by Director of Bands Robert Carrington, performs at all home football games and travels to marching band competitions on weekends during the fall. This year’s competition show is entitled “Invictus” and is inspired by the William Ernest Henley poem of the same name. The marching band was also featured at the Davidson Wildcat’s homecoming football game earlier this month. For more information about the band, go to the band’s website. Over 120 students benefit from the band program at Hough. The band program is entirely self-funded and counts on members of the community for financial support. Remember, band fruit makes a great holiday gift and it helps prevent scurvy.
Thank you for supporting the band!
