Disney’s “The Lion King, Jr.” Comes to Davidson

Davidson, NC- Join the young lion cub, Simba, as he finds the courage to take his place in the circle of life. The African savannah comes to life on stage with an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring coming-of-age tale.

Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.” will be performed at Davidson Community Player’s (DCP) Armour Street Theatre; 307 Armour St. in Davidson. Performance dates are Nov. 3-12. Advanced Tickets are $12 each and are available at the DCP website or by calling the box office at 704-892-7953.

Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.” has music and lyrics by Tim Rice and Elton John. Additional music and lyrics are by Will Van Dyke, Lebo M., Mark Mancina, and Jay Rifkin. The book is by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi and is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor.

The DCP production is directed Katie Mullis.

Performance dates are:
Nov. 3 and 10 at 7 p.m.
Nov. 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 1 p.m.
Nov. 4, 5, and 11 at 4 p.m.

The performance time is approximately 70 minutes and is perfect for children, as their first live theatre experience.
