Davidson Village Network Presents “KnowHow”

by | Oct 30, 2017 | Davidson Village Network

Davidson Village Network presents “KnowHow” – a unique decision-support resource – concerning later-in-life-decisions for older adults and their families at Davidson Town Hall November 15, 2017, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

The Davidson Village Network is a non-profit grassroots organization that offers a helping hand to older adults in the Davidson community. It offers friendship, social and educational activities, volunteer-provided services, and guided access to community resources.

The Davidson Village Network empowers older adults to live life on their terms. In this spirit, it extends an invitation to Davidson seniors and their families to “Know What They May Not Know” in making critical later-in-life decisions concerning Social Security and Medicare, End of Life Planning, Financial Matters, and organization of important documents. This valuable insight is provided by the non-profit, KnowHow, an embedded member resource of the Davidson Village Network.

David Critchlow, Founder of KnowHow, is a retired, senior healthcare executive with more than 40 years in both public and private sectors, including hospitals, healthcare systems, clinical organizations, research and commercial enterprises. The impetus of KnowHow originated with David’s work as a former board member for two Councils on Aging where he witnessed the struggles seniors endure. Upon retirement he formalized this initiative through the founding of KNOWHOWnc out of a growing concern for what seemed to be a common thread – friends, family, and college roommates wrestling with vital, later-in-life decisions and sharing in the fate of routinely getting them wrong. He serves on the board of Davidson Village Network and devotes time to the mission of KnowHow – helping older adults navigate the high-risk and hard choices all of us eventually must face.

People often run into difficulties due to a lack of critical information and the opportunity to talk things out with someone they trust. KnowHow offers both. The KnowHow resource strengthens a core principle of the Davidson Village Network, to enable older adults to have option of choosing how they live, as they grow older.

KnowHow will positively impact the lives of Davidson Village Network members and their families. Davidson Village Network is proud to provide the critical insight offered through KnowHow to the community through this presentation. Join us at Davidson Town Hall on November 15, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:15 am. All are welcome.
