Early Voters Herald Election Day Next Tuesday
For the past week, live candidates and multitudes of yard signs touting candidates have greeted voters taking advantage of early voting at Cornelius Town Hall. Through Monday, 895 voters had cast ballots early for candidates for municipal offices in Davidson and Cornelius. That total ranks third busiest among the county’s 17 early voting sites.
Voting day is next Tuesday, November 7, when polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Early voting will continue in Cornelius Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the final early voting day—Saturday, November 4. Anyone in line by closing time any day will be allowed to vote, no matter how long the line.
Statistics on early voting totals and a multitude of other election materials are available at the Board of Elections website. Once there, click on the link reading “Click here for one stop early voting statistics for the November 2017 General Election.”
