TOWN INFORMATION

Small Business Saturday, Saturday, November 25

by | Nov 14, 2017 | Bottom Right Box, Town Information

On Saturday, November 25, citizens are invited to kick-off the holiday shopping season by buying locally in all of our retail establishments.

“Supporting local businesses helps our community to remain a sustainable economy,” said Economic Development Manager Kim Fleming. “So many Davidson businesses support the community by hiring local workers, donating to our non-profit organizations, and sponsoring events. Let’s return the favor and support them on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday shopping season.”

This year, some retailers are offering giveaways that day as well. Here are the details:

9:00-10:00 a.m.: The Village Store – Free scarf with $50 purchase
10:00-11:00 a.m.: The Rumor Mill Market – 10% off entire purchase
11:00-Noon: Honeysuckle Home – 15% off entire purchase
12:00-1:00 p.m.: The Jewel Box – 20% off 1 item
1:00-2:00 p.m.: Ben & Jerry’s – Buy 1 waffle cone, get 1 free
2:00-3:00 p.m.: Main Street Books – Free MSB bumper sticker with purchase
3:00-4:00 p.m.: Pete & Pop’s Findery – Free candle w/ purchase
4:00-5:00 p.m.: Elisabeth Rose – 10% off holiday cards
ALL DAY: A/R Workshop – BOGO (½ off) Lazy Susan

The town’s core values state that “Davidson’s economic health is essential to its remaining a sustainable community, so town government will judiciously encourage new business opportunities.” The town’s economic development department focuses on business retention, and these events will familiarize participants with our local businesses in time for the holiday shopping season.

American Express launched Small Business Saturday in 2010 in an effort to support local places that make our communities strong. Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.
