Ready, Set, Weekend in Davidson

The cherry trees are in full bloom at Wilson Field on the Davidson College campus.

The rain is gone, the sun is out, and we are ready for the weekend in Davidson.

Friday

Baseball vs. Lehigh

March 2 @ 6:00 p.m.

Davidson College – Wilson Field

The Davidson Wildcats begin a 3-game series with Lehigh. The game is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Field. All games are free and open to the public.

The Diary of Anne Frank

March 2 @ 8:00 p.m.

Armour Street Theater – 307 Armour Street, Davidson

Davidson Community Players — In this transcendently powerful new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time.

Advance tickets start at $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $12 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the website or by calling the box office at 704-892-7953.

Men’s Basketball vs. Rhode Island

March 2 @ 8:00 p.m.

Belk Arena – Davidson College

The Davidson Men’s Basketball team will be hosting Rhode Island at 8:00 p.m. in Belk Arena. The last home game of the season will also be “Senior Night.” Prior to the game, Davidson will honor its senior class of Peyton AldridgeWill MagarityOskar MichelsenRusty Reigel and Jordan Watkins. Fans are encouraged to be in their seat by 7:45 p.m.

  • Friday is also the annual “Take A Kid to the Game” All youth will receive FREE admission with a paying adult. Use coupon code TAKG when purchasing tickets online.
  • Friday’s contest against Rhode Island will also be the first-ever “STRIPE OUT” game, presented by Coca-Cola. All fans will receive a FREE red or black (depending on seat/section assignment) T-Shirt, provided by Coca-Cola.

Farmers’ Market

February 24: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets. The busiest Market time is between 8:30-10:30 a.m. Get there early if you are looking for something in particular. Eggs sell out quickly!

Introduction to Healing Touch at the Davidson Public Library

Purim Carnival Sunday, March 4

Fun! Food! Games! Face Painting! Celebrate and Enjoy!

The Carnival will open at 9:30am for preschoolers, and then to everyone from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Advanced tickets $6.00; at the door $8.00. Participants will receive a bracelet, which will include all games, activities, bounce house, and cotton candy. Additional food will be available for purchase, cash only. Davidson Lacrosse vs. Mercer

The Davidson Women’s Lacrosse team will be hosting Mercer on Sunday at Richardson Stadium. All lacrosse games are free and open to the public.

Book Discussion – Waking Up White, by Debbie Irving

March 4 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Davidson College Presbyterian Church – Jetton Hall [Corner of Main St. & Concord Rd.]

will be hosting the third of a 4-part study of the book, Waking Up White. The discussion will be led by Scott Kenefake, Interim Minister. The final discussions in this series will be held on March 4 & 11. [The class is also being offered Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Marshall Room at the Pines.]
