Web Site Adjustments and Email Notifications
Thank you for being a NewsOfDavidson.org reader. We have been online since mid-September last year, and we are excited about our growth over these past months.
With that growth has come a few growing pains – most of which we were expecting. The majority of the fixes have been handled behind the scenes, without any disruption of service. However, we have a current “bug” that will require our terrific designer (tech support) to take the site offline temporarily. We hope our down time will be extremely limited, but felt that it was important to provide a heads up.
The second issue involves our email notification process. The great news is that more than 250 people have signed up to receive notifications when we publish new articles. The challenge is that when we publish numerous articles in one day, some email providers are labeling us as “spam.” In other cases, we have heard from readers who felt they were getting too many emails.
In an attempt to best serve the largest number of our readers, we are going to limit our notifications to 3 times per week. Initially, we plan on sending out these emails on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We will use the communications management tool “Mail Chimp” to handle these emails.
The Monday, Wednesday, and Friday emails will provide a listing of all the new articles published since the previous notification.
It is important to note that you can still visit NewsOfDavidson.org any time to see if we have published anything new.
We greatly appreciate your support, and we look forward to continued improvement as we seek to be your best source of community information.
