The Town of Davidson will provide the main dish, paper goods, and water and tea. We’ll have tables and chairs set up to accommodate 500 people. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. We’d love to have as many citizens as possible.
Davidson Farmers’ Market

The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.
Walk With A Doc

Walk With A Doc is a national program to encourage healthy regular physical activity in people of all ages, to help reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of those who would participate. Walking for as little as 30 minutes a day can have enormous health benefits. Walking was recently recognized by the Surgeon General of the United States as one of the single most important things we can do for our health. Will you join us in making health and happiness accessible to all? Bring the whole family and the dog but just come and join your fellow citizens in improving the health of our community.

Town Day will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 on the town green. Citizens are encouraged to walk or ride a bike (May is National Bike Month) to the green. Police officers stationed at key intersections to ensure safety. Ride your bike and park it in the ‘Bike Corral’ near the Town of Davidson’s booth.
Jewish Council of Lake Norman to hold a Deli Day

Temple Kol Tikvah
For those of us “transplanted yankees”, a common topic of conversation is how we miss the authentic, traditional, delicious New York Deli. The council will make it possible to indulge in some of those favorites. The council is made up of Congregation Emanuel in Statesville, Temple Kol Tikvah in Davidson, the Lake Norman Chapter of Hadassah, and a few independent board members, along with generous funding from the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte to bring Jewish cultural events to the area. You can either eat-in or take-out your deli delights.
Davidson College Choirs Present “Jubilate Deo”

Duke Family Performance Hall
The Choral Arts Society of Davidson and the Davidson College Choirs will present Forrest’s Jubilate Deo on May 6, bringing new meaning to the words of Psalm 100: “O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands.” They will sing in seven different languages and draw on a wide range of music cultures. Singers will present movements that include Hebrew, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Zulu, Spanish, traditional Latin, and even some English. The concert will be held at the Duke Family Performance Hall on the Davidson campus and will feature a full orchestra. The May 6 concert program begins at 3:00 PM. Ticket prices range from $5 for Davidson students to $25 for general admission.
Concert on the Green – Uptown Funk
