At the town board meeting Tuesday evening, Mayor Rusty Knox announced 15 citizens selected to serve as the Beaty Street Conceptual Plan Task Force. The 15 were selected by the mayor from a total of 26 who applied to join the group.

The Task Force is charged with developing a plan to turn the 19 acres of undeveloped town land along Beaty Street into a park. Mayor Knox noted that the group is under no time constraint to complete the work. He also expressed a hope that the group will solicit ideas for the park from any and all citizens interested in the project. The task force will work in conjunction with Parks & Recreation director Kathryn Spatz.

Members of the Task Force are: Meredith Allen, Ellyn Baeszler, Denise Beall, John Burke, Leah Chester Davis, Dave Cable, Heidi Dietrich, Gary Fagan, Peter Grisewood, Janet Makee, Bill Maloney, Karen Manfredi, Jason Parker, Gabriel Schoen, and Alice Sudduth.
