Music at St. Albans Announces its 2018-2019 Season

Music at St. Alban’s presents our 2018-19 concert series. Each concert is held at 3:00 p.m., at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Davidson. Arrive early to enjoy the pre-concert young artists performance at 2:30 p.m. Each concert will be followed by a “meet the artist” reception. Tickets are available at the door [$20/general admission; $15/seniors; $10/students; children under 12/free] or at the website.

This year, we are adding a special event, participating in the Arts & Science Council’s first “Culture Bites” on Thursday August 16, 6-8:30 p.m. at the Village Green. The ASC, partnering with the Town of Davidson, is inviting all to gather for an evening of family-friendly food and entertainment of all varieties. Admission and entertainment are free. Local restaurants will feature small bites for purchase. Stop by our Music at St Alban’s table for a chance to win tickets to an upcoming Music at St Alban’s concert.

Music at St Alban’s is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Washington, D.C.-based ensemble Iris Trio performs piano trios (piano, violin and cello) by Mozart, Ravel and McKee.

January 20, 2019

Renowned choral conductor Dr. Kenney Potter directs the Chamber Singers of the Charlotte Master Chorale in “Of Time and Space”-Contemporary choral works by Kile Smith, Erik Esenvalds, and others.

This program will celebrate our fascination with the exploration of space. The main composition will be Kile Smith’s landmark work, The Consolation of Apollo, a musical setting of the radio transmission from the first manned spaceflight to the moon and back to Earth.

Mannheim Rocket – The Virginia-based classical chamber ensemble will play sextets and octets with strings and classical-period clarinet.

The Winston-Salem-based New Century Saxophone Quartet is dedicated to exploring new music for saxophone quartet, as well as playing jazz standards and classical transcriptions.
