Davidson Police Department Warns Residents to Take Precautions with Residential Mailboxes

by | Jul 21, 2018 | News, Town Information

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson Police Department recently received two reports of theft from mailboxes in town and offers the following suggestions:

  1. Collect your mail promptly from your residential mailbox, once it’s delivered by the USPS,
  2. For outgoing mail, do not place mail in your mailbox until the morning of pick-up (rather than the night before), and
  3. For outgoing mail, drop it off at the post office or in a blue USPS mailbox.

“One of our core values is to help make Davidson a safe place to live,” said Police Chief Penny Dunn. “These simple precautions can help prevent property and identity theft and fraud.”
