The 2017 GospelFest proved to be one of the most popular Concerts on the Green, don’t miss this year’s GospelFest Sunday evening.



Music at St. Albans: “Culture Bites”

August 16 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Davidson Village Green

This year, we are adding a special event, participating in the Arts & Science Council’s first “Culture Bites” on Thursday August 16, 6-8:30 p.m. at the Village Green. The ASC, partnering with the Town of Davidson, is inviting all to gather for an evening of family-friendly food and entertainment of all varieties. Admission and entertainment are free. Local restaurants will feature small bites for purchase. Stop by our Music at St Alban’s table for a chance to win tickets to an upcoming Music at St Alban’s concert. Music at St Alban’s is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

 Davidson Farmers’ Market

The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.


Back2School Community Outreach

Gethsemane Baptist Church – 565 Jetton Street

Gethsemane Baptist Church of Lake Norman will host the 11th Annual Back-2-School Breakout, providing FREE book bags with school supplies and athletic shoes to area students in grades K-12. There will also be FREE entertainment, food, and games for the youth to enjoy as we set the atmosphere for a time of fun, fellowship and a sense of community. We’ll have a game truck, free haircuts, crafts corner, corn hole, bounce house, prizes and much, much more. Last year we were able to provide nearly 400 backpacks of school supplies and 200 pairs of athletic shoes through Samaritan Feet shoe distribution.


Women’s Exhibition Volleyball vs. High Point

The Wildcats will take on High Point in an exhibition match in Belk Arena at the Baker Sports Complex.


David Joy – Reading + Signing

David Joy is the author of the Edgar nominated novel Where All Light Tends to Go, as well as the novel The Weight Of This World and the memoir Growing Gills: A Fly Fisherman’s Journey, which was a finalist for the Reed Environmental Writing Award and the Ragan Old North State Award. His latest short stories and essays have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Garden & Gun, and The Bitter Southerner. He will offer a reading, discussion, and signing of his latest book The Line That Held Us at Main Street Books.

Enjoy a self-guided watercraft adventure through Lake Davidson! We will provide you with paddles, life vests, and your choice of a kayak, canoe, or paddle board! Please meet our staff at the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve (located behind Davidson Day School) and follow the cones. All participants must have ported their watercraft(s) by 5:00pm. Concert on the Green: GospelFest

August 19 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Town Green – corner of Main Street and Concord Road

All concerts are free, family-oriented, and open to all ages. Food and beverages are available for purchase. In addition, attendees also have a choice of some wonderful Davidson restaurants from which to get take-out, or visit before or after the concert. Coolers and picnics are welcome. Free public parking is available all around the event site, however, please pay attention to signs indicating where parking is prohibiting. Handicapped event parking is available on Main Street, Concord Road and in the Davidson Public Library parking lot along Lorimer Road.



Family Story Time

Bring your family (birth to age 5) out to enjoy stories, songs, and movement activities that support early literacy skill development and help foster a love of books and reading in your child.  Families, toddlers, preschoolers. Registration opens 30 minutes prior to story time, please check in at the desk.


Strange New Worlds Book Club

We meet the third Monday of the month and discuss science fiction, fantasy and graphic novels selected by the group. This month our selection is Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer.
