The Wildcat Field Hockey team will be hosting the Georgetown Hoyas in their season opening match on Friday.

The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.


Walk With A Doc

Walk with A Doc is a national program to encourage healthy regular physical activity in people of all ages, to help reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle to improve the health and well-being of those who would participate. Walking for as little as 30 minutes a day can have enormous health benefits. Walking was recently recognized by the Surgeon General of the United States as one of the single most important things we can do for our health. Will you join us in making health and happiness accessible to all? Bring the whole family and the dog but just come and join your fellow citizens in improving the health of our community.

Trevor D’Silva – Book Signing

Davidson Film Club: Hotel Salvation

The Davidson Film Club (DFC) screening of the Indian film, “Hotel Salvation,” (2016) will be held on Saturday, August 25. Memberships are now open for the five-film series, at a cost of $35. Watercraft Rental

Lake Davidson Nature Preserve – 750 Jetton Street

Enjoy a self-guided watercraft adventure through Lake Davidson! We will provide you with paddles, life vests, and your choice of a kayak, canoe, or paddle board.  Please meet our staff at the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve (located behind Davidson Day School) and follow the cones. Main Street Hooks

Main Street Hooks is a free and open book and knitting club brought to readers by Main Street Books in partnership with Davidson’s forthcoming craft store Hearts on Fiber. Main Street Hooks meets at the bookstore monthly for an hour of communal knitting and audiobook enjoyment. No registration necessary.

Bring your family (aged birth to 5) out to enjoy stories, songs, and movement activities that support early literacy skill development and help foster a love of books and reading in your child.  Families, toddlers, preschoolers. Registration opens 30 minutes prior to story time, please check in at the desk.


Temple Kol Tikvah Hosts Human Trafficking Discussion

Temple Kol Tikvah – 605 South Street

The Sisterhood of Temple Kol Tikvah is facilitating a presentation and community discussion with Bo Quickel, founder of the organization, “Vigilante Truckers.” He founded the organization in 2011 with the goal of drying up the customer base for sex slaves. The “industry”recruits children with an average age of 12-16. Bo has been talking to many groups to make them aware of what is happening right here. It is an evening you don’t want to miss.
