Lang Named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Coming off a runner-up finish at the 2018 River Run Collegiate, Jack Lang has been named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Friday.
A senior from Lexington, Mass., Lang (67-70-72) finished the 54-hole event at 209 (-7) to finish two shots off the lead. In addition to three rounds of par or better, the 2017 Atlantic 10 Champion concluded the event with a career-best 17 birdies, including 15 on day one.
“I’m happy for Jack to be named A-10 Golfer of the Week,” said Head Coach Tim Straub. “Shooting 7-Under at River Run is no easy task and deserving of this award. He is off to a great start to the 2018-2019 season.”
Through two events/five rounds this season, Lang has a 69.20 stroke average and a pair of Top-3 finishes. In all, the 2017 Atlantic 10 Champion has eight career Top-5 showings.
A recipient of three athletic scholarships: Dr. Tom Scott Golf Scholarship, Covington Golf Scholarship, and Southwood J. Morcott Golf Scholarship, Lang is a two-time all-conference performer and named A-10 Rookie of the Year in 2016.
As a team, the Wildcats (867 | +3) posted a final round 289 to finish four behind champion James Madison (-1) and three back of Furman (E).
