The SoMa (South Main) Fall Festival is just one of many events on tap for our weekend in Davidson.

 

Friday

Davidson Field Hockey Hosts Lock Haven

Belk Turf Field – Davidson College Campus

The Wildcats host Lock Haven in this Friday night match up. All games are free and open to the public. Come out and cheer on the ‘Cats.

 

Davidson Lifeline Event: An Evening with Kevin Hines

Oct 5 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

William A. Hough High School – 12420 Bailey Road

Suicide: The Ripple Effect is a recently released documentary of KevinHines’ life and Davidson LifeLine is showing it at William Amos Hough High School, with Kevin Hines speaking afterward. The sobering fact is that suicide rates have increased 24% since 1999 and is the second leading cause of death for our youth. 16% of NC high school students report they have considered suicide. Suicide is a public health emergency and there is much we can do.

The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.

Davidson Football Hosts Jacksonville

The Wildcats host Jacksonville at Richardson stadium. Take a Kid to the Game Day! All youth get in free with a paying adult. For more information on this event, please visit the Davidson Athletics website. It’s also the first afternoon game of the ‘Cats 2018 home season.

 

Watercraft Rental

Lake Davidson Nature Preserve – 750 Jetton Street

Enjoy a self-guided watercraft adventure through Lake Davidson! We will provide you with paddles, life vests, and your choice of a kayak, canoe, or paddle board.  Please meet our staff at the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve (located behind Davidson Day School) and follow the cones. New Belgium Beer Dinner

Summit Outpost – Patterson Court (Davidson College Campus)

Summit’s Beer Dinner (the 38th!) will be on Saturday, October 6, in partnership with New Belgium Brewing. They have been working with New Belgium for several years, and since they’ve opened a second brewery in Asheville the relationship has strengthened.

This dinner will be a 6-course evening, featuring some of New Belgium’s most unique offerings from their Asheville brewery. Cost: $65 // ticket.  Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable.

The show was adapted from the best-selling children’s book by the same name. Actors only need to attend one evening of auditions.
