Annual Meeting of the Book Clubs of Davidson Features Bestselling Author, Denise Kiernan
Main Street Books and the combined book clubs of Davidson have joined together to host this year’s annual author talk.
The Town of Davidson is home to a record number of book clubs per capita who have gathered formally once per year since 1996 to host an author for a reading and discussion of the author’s book. Founding organizers of the annual event, B.G. Jones and Betty Newbold, hoped to foster collegiality and conversation among the many groups of avid readers in the community.
This year, mark your calendars for Sunday, November 4th, when Davidson’s book clubs will gather to welcome journalist, producer, and New York Times bestselling author of The Girls of Atomic City and The Last Castle, Denise Kiernan.
Kiernan’s work has been published in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Village Voice, Ms. Magazine, and Reader’s Digest. Throughout her career, Kiernan has been a featured guest on many radio and television shows, including NPR’s “Weekend Edition,” PBS NewsHour, MSNBC Morning Joe, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
She will discuss her most recent book, The Last Castle, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at The Pines (400 Avinger Lane) in Davidson. Light refreshments will be offered.
The Book Clubs of Davidson Author Talk is free and open to everyone.
