DAVIDSON, N.C. – Ryan Bauder has been named Director of Program Development for the Davidson women’s basketball program, head coach Gayle Fulks announced Wednesday.

A 2015 Wake Forest graduate, Bauder spent four years as a member of the Demon Deacons’ football team before working with Wake Forest’s athletic department in academic services and basketball operations for the women’s program from 2015-17.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Davidson women’s basketball staff,” Bauder said. “I have been a part of college athletics for the past 11 years and there is no one with a better vision for the future of women’s basketball and college sports than Gayle and her staff. I look forward to helping Davidson compete for championships on the court, while also helping them navigate the new landscape of college athletics in this innovative role.”

“We are excited to add Ryan and his unique background to this new and innovative position on our staff,” Fulks said. “He brings a tireless work ethic combined with a lot of experience in various roles in college athletics. This experience, along with his law degree, brings a valuable perspective to the current college basketball landscape and will undoubtedly enhance our program. In this role, he will be helping with special projects, assisting with fundraising and community outreach, as well as serving as a recruiting and scouting operations assistant.”

After his time at Wake Forest, Bauder spent one season with the Wildcats from 2017-18 as the program’s Director of Player Development, during year one of the Fulks era, before returning to Wake Forest Law School. While earning his Juris Doctor Degree, which he completed in May of 2021, Bauder spent time interning with the Davidson compliance department and conducting research and interviews about name, image and likeness rights for student-athletes.

Bauder is a member of the Indiana State Bar and earned his bachelor’s degree in history and politics & international affairs from Wake in 2017.
