This month, DVN shares its FOURTH PILLAR of a whole-hearted member experience:

 

Buddy-up to Giddy-up from Day One!

 

We are on a mission to eradicate loneliness! Members receive phone calls, visits, and are invited to social events like our monthly Coffee Chat, Happy Hour and Lunch, to name a few. We specialize in creating meaningful connections between members and volunteers that lead to trusted friendships.

 

According to Aging Well, The Harvard Study of Adult Development:

“Close relationships, more than money or fame, are what keep people happy throughout their lives. Those ties protect people from life’s discontents, help to delay mental and physical decline, and are better predictors of long and happy lives than social class, IQ, or even genes.”

FIRST PILLAR: To appreciate the often unseen nature of loneliness in older adults and its link to serious health conditions.

SECOND PILLAR: To see member occasions (activities, events, etc.) as opportunities to enrich the human spirit in lasting ways. 

THIRD PILLAR : We discover and document the unique needs and special interests of each member and incorporate these into an individualized fulfillment plan.
