Ready, Set, Weekend in Davidson: March 1 – 4

There are several events at Main Street Books this weekend.
Friday
Davidson Baseball Hosts Toledo – Game 1 POSTPONED
March 1 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Wilson Field – Davidson College Campus
GAME 1 IS POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER. The Wildcats host Toledo for a 3-game stand – now with a doubleheader slated for Saturday. All baseball games are free and open to the public. A concessions stand is operated on the 3rd base side of the field, and all proceeds go to the Davidson field hockey and volleyball teams.
Kids’ Night Out for Read Across America Day w/ Main Street Books
March 1 @ 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
AR Workshop – 120-A South Village Lane
Cost for this event is $35. Paint your own book bag. Get a hardcover book. Listen to a professional storyteller. Light snacks will be provided

Davidson Community Players Performs “Benedictions”

Armour Street Theatre – 307 Armour Street
Davidson Community Players kicks off its 2019 Main Stage Season with “Benedictions,” written by Charlotte-area playwright, Judy Simpson Cook, and directed by Sylvia Schnople. Performances are made possible through a generous grant from the North Carolina Arts Council and will run Feb. 21-March 10 at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.

The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is back this week. DFM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture, and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.
Book Signing and Group Run with Author Laura King Edwards

Join Laura at Main Street Books in Davidson, where she’ll sign copies of “Run to the Light.” Books will be available for purchase. Kick off your weekend in this iconic college town, browse its independent bookstore, and attend the popular Davidson Farmers’ Market. Prior to the signing at 10:30, Laura will also join local run clubs and the public for an optional 5K group run at 9:30, beginning in front of the store.
