17th Annual Service Academy Day – Saturday, April 6
Each year local congressional representatives recommend high school seniors from their district for appointments to the service academies. Congresswoman Alma Adams inviting all high school students, parents and teachers to join her office staff this Saturday as they participate in the17th Annual Military Service Academy Day at Charlotte Catholic H.S..
Representatives from all the academies are scheduled to be present:
- U. S. Military Academy (USMA) – West Point,
- U. S. Naval Academy (USNA),
- U. S. Air Force Academy (USAFA),
- U. S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), and
- U. S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA).
Participants will have the opportunity to talk with Cadets, Midshipmen and Academy Representatives, listen to presentations, as well as speak with Congressional Staff. Next fall (Sept./Oct.) Congresswoman Adams will hold a separate event specifically for those students interested in seeking a Congressional nomination. Qualifying candidates will have the opportunity to receive a full scholarship to attend one of our nation’s top academic institutions.
This weekend’s event will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Charlotte Catholic High School – 7702 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, N.C.
NOTE: the Coast Guard Academy does not have a Congressional nominative process, but representatives from USCGA are scheduled to attend this event.
