KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – In addition to Jack Lang setting a new program record for career Top-5 finishes, Davidson came home fifth at the 2019 Irish Creek Collegiate hosted by the Wildcats and Charlotte.

Wildcat seniors (L-R) Mike Blasey, Hoke Carlton, Kevin Carlock, Jack Lang, with coach Tim Straub.

The two-day 54-hole event was played on the Par 71, 7,099-yard Club at Irish Creek layout.

After matching his personal best with a five-under 66 in round two, Lang (207 | -6) carded a 69 Sunday to finish third out of 96 individual competitors. For Lang, it was his 12th career Top-5 showing, breaking the previous school standard held by three-time NCAA qualifier Richard Fountain.

Alex Ross, the 2018 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, fired the Wildcats’ low round of the day to finish tied for 10th at 210 (71-72-67).

Davidson, which entered the tournament with a pair of wins and six Top-3 showings this season, shot one-over 285 Sunday to finish at 848 (-4).
