Sunday afternoon New York Times bestselling author, Charles Frazier and D.G. Martin ’62 sat in the Lilly Family Gallery to talk about Frazier’s novel Varina. An audience of more than 100 sat and listened to the book chat between two old friends, before being given time to ask their own questions of the author.

The Town of Davidson’s 2019 ReadDavidson program had selected Frazer’s Varina for this year’s book. ReadDavidson, an annual town-wide reading initiative that started in 2007, is a partnership between the Town of Davidson, the Davidson Public Library, Main Street Books, Davidson Learns with support from the Department of English at Davidson College.

The ReadDavidson committee encourages people to read a selected book and attend entertaining and educational book-related events that make the book come to life.  This year’s events was scheduled for April in conjunction with the town’s annual “April is for Arts” initiative.
