Funeral Procession on Friday for Mooresville Police Officer Sheldon
Shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, Mooresville K9 Police Officer Jordan Harris Sheldon, 32, was shot during a routine traffic stop. He was transported from the scene, but later died from his injuries.
Services for Officer Sheldon will be held on Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church in Charlotte, located at 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road. Following the service, a procession will travel to Mooresville Police Department where the procession will disband.
Davidson residents should expect delays and road closures on Friday, between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm related to the funeral procession. The specific travel route and time for the procession to Mooresville will be posted after all transportation logistics are finalized. Tentative plans suggest that the procession will utilize Hwy. 115, and that the road will be shut down to normal traffic.
Residents wanting to express their condolences and respect to Officer Sheldon will be able to line the procession route as it comes through Davidson.
Davidson Police Officers have been working shifts in Mooresville and will continue to do so to allow Mooresville PD to attend events for Officer Sheldon.
