Davidson Police Investigate Vehicle Breaking and Entering, Larceny, and Thefts

by | Jun 4, 2019 | Town Information

Since Saturday, June 1, 2019, the Davidson Police Department has responded to several calls regarding breaking and entering or larceny from motor vehicles and four (4) stolen vehicles. The incidents have taken place in McConnell, Bradford, and Davidson Landing. All the victims have reported that their vehicles were unlocked and/or keys were in the vehicles at the time of the thefts.

Please remember to close and secure your vehicles and garage doors. Keep out of sight or remove all valuables, including spare keys, from your vehicle. These types of crimes are preventable when vehicles are locked. A decrease in these types of property crimes was evident in the first five months of 2019. The Davidson Police Department contributes the reduction in early 2019 to citizens being more proactive by locking their doors and securing valuables.

We are asking residents with outdoor surveillance recordings that capture sidewalks and/or street views to view same. If images of any suspicious individuals or activity appear on your video surveillance tapes recorded between June 1, 2019 and June 4, 2019 in the early morning hours, we ask that you contact Detective Jay Stokes at 704-892-5131 or 704-940-9633.
