Davidson Golfer Jack Lang Named to A-10 All-Academic Team
For the second straight year, Davidson’s Jack Lang has been voted to the Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Ranked 89th Nationally according to GolfStat, Lang recently concluded his career at the 2019 NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional, where he finished T-27th with a 54-hole total of 217 (79-70-68).
Lang joined Richard Fountain (2010-14) and Mike Spann (1967-69) as the only Wildcats to participate in three NCAA Tournaments.
In addition to leading Davidson to its first-ever Regional berth a year ago, Lang competed as a sophomore after capturing the 2017 Atlantic 10 individual title.
A three-time all-conference performer, Lang led the Atlantic 10 with a 71.08 stroke average earning the program’s first-ever A-10 Player of the Year honor.
Last month, Lang was presented the 2019 Tommy Peters Award, which is given to a senior male scholar-athlete in recognition of outstanding dedication and contribution to intercollegiate athletics.
The recipient of three athletic scholarships: Dr. Tom Scott Golf Scholarship, Covington Golf Scholarship and Southwood J. Morcott Golf Scholarship, Lang holds the school record for career Top-5 finishes with 13.
