Davidson’s own Main Street Books is located at 126 S. Main Street.

DAVIDSON, NC – Main Street Books is excited to bring the first ever Heck YA! Book Fest to Davidson.

On Saturday, July 27th, 17 authors of middle grade and young adult fiction will gather in Davidson for an afternoon of bookish delight. The program will begin with a keynote address at Main Street Books from Gillian McDunn, author of Caterpillar Summer. Following the keynote address, attendees can choose three panel discussions to attend. Each panel discussion will feature four to six authors discussing a specific theme and will transpire at one of two locations: The Birdsnest or the Community Room in the Davidson Public Library. The festival will conclude with closing remarks and a book signing at Main Street Books.

Although hosting a book festival has been a dream of Adah Fitzgerald’s, proprietor of Main Street Books, for years, this is the first time the dream will become reality.

Participating authors are Gillian McDunn, India Hill Brown, Gail Shepherd, Malayna Evans, Mariama J. Lockington, Rajani LaRocca, Karen Strong, Alicia D. Williams, Carrie Ryan, Nicole Panteleakos, Mason Deaver, Joan He, Joan He, Jodie Lynn Zdrok, Amalie Jahn, Amber Smith, Megan Miranda, and Jaye Robin Brown.

Each author’s book will be available for purchase or pre-order at Main Street Books.

Heck YA! Book Fest is free. However, registration is required to attend. Early bird registration, which includes a free t-shirt, ends Saturday, July 6th. All registration ends Wednesday, July 24th.
