Davidson Lacrosse Adds Nine in Class of 2023

DAVIDSON, N.C.  — Head coach Kim Wayne of the Davidson women’s lacrosse program announced today the addition of nine recruits to the Class of 2023, who will join the program this coming Fall for the 2019-20 season. The class is comprised of scholar-athletes from the states of Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and North Carolina.

“I’m thrilled to welcome this freshmen class to the Wildcat family as they truly embody what Davidson College and our athletic department represent,” said Wayne, who will be entering her 12th season at the helm of the program. “Their hard work in the classroom and dedication to lacrosse both on and off the field are what attracted me to each one of them. They love the game and are ready to bring their passion and talent to Davidson. I am looking forward to the Fall and seeing how well they integrate themselves into the current team.”

The Wildcats will welcome to the Class of 2023: Molly Murphy (Foxborough, Mass.), Courtney Baehr (Glenwood, Md.), Erin Cooke (Woodstock, Md.), Amanda Monahan (Marblehead, Mass.), Riley Redpath (Wyndmoor, Pa.), Grace Fahey (Greenwich, Conn.), Margaret Anne Warner (Broughton, N.C.), Anna West (Hillsborough, N.C.) and Eva Finn (Darien, Conn.).

Molly Murphy

Position: Midfielder

Academic Honors: 2-time scholar-athlete for high school 

Athletic Honors: Hockomock League Lacrosse All Star … two-time Hockomock League Lacrosse All Star Honorable Mention … two-time Hockomock League Field Hockey Honorable Mention … played on team representing MA/RI team in national lacrosse tournament.

Courtney Baehr

Why I wanted to attend Davidson: “I’ve wanted to attend Davidson since I was in middle school, when my parents and I would travel to Davidson to visit my sister and watch Wildcat lacrosse games! As I grew older, I realized that I really wanted the challenge of Davidson academics and the opportunities that success at the college will open up for me.   The honor code was an attraction, as well, because it emphasizes personal accountability and respect for the work and property of others.”
