Davidson Community Players to Hold Open Auditions for “Wait Until Dark”

Davidson Community Players logoDavidson Community Players announces its open auditions for their 2019 production of “Wait Until Dark,” written by Frederick Scott. Auditions will be held Sunday, August 11 and Monday August 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the DCP Actor’s Lab. 20700 N. Main Street, Suite 112, Cornelius, NC.

Production dates are September 26 –October 13 at the Armour Street Theatre. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors should be prepared to stay for the entire audition, and only need to come to one of the audition sessions. Please bring a headshot and a resume. Perusal copies of the script (with a $10 deposit) will be available at the DCP office. Please call the box office at 704-892-7953 to arrange pick up.

Show Synopsis:
A terrifying game of cat and mouse takes place in the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam and his blind wife, Susy. Desperate to regain a mysterious doll stuffed with illegal drugs, con man Harry, with the help of two criminal sidekicks and clever disguises, spin a tale to fool the unsuspecting Susy. When the doll cannot be found, the situation spins out of control as we all wait until dark to play out the classic chilling conclusion.

Susy Hendrix – 20’s-30’s, a young woman blinded in a car accident
Sam Hendrix – 30’s-40’s, the husband of Susy Hendrix
Gloria -11-13, Young friend of Susy’s
Con Men-
Mike Talman – 30’s and up
Sergeant Carlino – 40’s and up
Harry Roat – mid 30’s and up

All ages are approximate and appearance is more important than actual age.

Age ranges are guidelines but all who are interested are encouraged to audition. Please see the DCP website for our casting policy.
