Yarbrough, Women’s and Men’s Track and Field Earn Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Recent graduate Caroline Yarbrough was selected to the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2019 All-Academic Team, announced by the association Monday.

Yarbrough, who graduated in May with a degree in art history and minor in history, had a very successful final campaign on the Davidson campus that saw her make three Atlantic 10 All-Academic Teams, the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team and win her fourth conference crown with a victory in the A-10 10,000-meter Championship race.

Yarbrough competed in her second consecutive NCAA East Prelims in the 10k after smashing her personal best at the A-10 Championship in 34:27.15. She was an All-Conference runner four times in her final season between cross country and indoor and outdoor track in five chances.

Along with Yarbrough’s recognition, the women’s track and field team as a whole was named an All-Academic Team with a squad GPA of 3.55.

The Davidson men’s track and field squad was also recognized by USTFCCCA as an All-Academic Team.

The Wildcats were one of 139 Division I men’s programs to be recognized, earning a team GPA of 3.15.

Recent graduate, Sean Caveney, was selected to the Atlantic 10 Indoor All-Academic Team and was previously named a USTFCCCA individual selection in 2017.
