Updated Recycling Information
Mecklenburg County has recently updated its recycling information with respect to certain types of plastics, and we want you to be aware of these changes.
Per the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency…
Plastic Containers – They no longer have viable markets for open top style plastic containers and are no longer accepting “yogurt” type containers, pill bottles, margarine tubs, plastic toys, or plastic paint bucket containers. They now only accept plastic bottles with necks (like water bottles, detergent bottles, and milk jugs).
Rigid plastics- Rigid plastic toys will still be accepted at Mecklenburg County Full Service Centers.
