“A Few Good Men” will be performed at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson. The production features high school and college-age performers from throughout the region and is directed by Emily Klingman. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7p.m., and Sunday at 2p.m (August 16-18). It is recommended for ages 12 and above. The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is back this week. DFM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.

Davidson Fan Fest

August 17 @ 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Richardson Stadium – Davidson College Campus

Join the Wildcats for the Annual Davidson Fan Fest at Richardson Stadium. The event is a FREE family fun event for all ages!

  • 6 – 8 pm you will have the opportunity to meet all our Fall Sports Teams Players and Coaches from Football, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey, and Cross Country. There will be games, activities, autographs, photo booths, inflatables, and more!
  • Starting at 8 pm we will be showing a movie out on the field, so all guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the movie after the festivities!

We will also have Food Trucks; Carolina Smash Truck, Queen City Sliders, and The HillBilly Philly Food Truck serving up dinner, and will have Beer for those 21+ from; D9 Brewing Company and Cabarrus Brewing Company! There will also be Live Music (artist TBD)! There will be FREE parking at Baker Sports Complex!

Gran Fondo Bike Race and Recreational Ride

August 18 @ 7:30 am – 2:00 pm

Davidson Town Green

Area cycling enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Lake Norman Gran Fondo charity ride on Sunday, August 18, 2019. This local ride, hosted and sponsored by the Spirited Cyclist bike shop, is one of many similar Fondos held annually across the nation. “Gran Fondo” is an Italian term meaning “Big Ride” which brings together a group ride, race, and tour in one event. Riders ranging from professional to recreational are welcome to enter and enjoy camaraderie, scenic views, and the chance to win prizes in the post-Fondo festival. Family Storytime

August 19 @ [2 sessions, one at 10:00 a.m. and the other at 11:00 a.m.]

Bring your family (ages birth to 5) out to enjoy stories, songs, and movement activities that support early literacy skill development and help foster a love of books and reading in your child. Registration opens 30 minutes prior to story time at 9.30am. Please check in at the desk.

 

Rotary Club of Davidson

August 19 @ 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Rotary Club of Davidson meets on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Mondays of each month (excluding federal holidays).  Noon – 1:00 pm at North Harbor Club Restaurant. Meetings last about an hour. Visitors welcome!
