HOUSES OF WORSHIP

Into the Space (a poem for those who grieve)

Into the Space
(a poem for those who grieve)

Into the space where
love dwells
there comes a robber
who dares to
steal life

He smiles as he leaves
us in the wake
of a tide that
seems so
final

But there is one who
has traveled the
valley of grief
and loss
He too smiles for he
faced the robber
one dark Friday
and
but a few days later
he stole what
had been
stolen

Death held tight to what
the prize might be
but the Lord of life
cheated him
of
his victory

So now for all of you
who grieve the
loss of love
Reach out to a hand
that reaches
to you

It is the wounded hand
of the one
who faced the darkness
and who now
offers you the light
that cannot be
vanquished

The one you lost is
not lost to
him
His never ending love found
the one you loved
And into that
Space of what seems empty
Resurrection fills
it all
