While most of our staff are working remotely, the Ada Jenkins Center’s onsite food services are considered an “essential business” during North Carolina’s statewide shutdown. Our Food Pantry is operating as a drive-through service on Wednesdays from noon-2:30pm. Each weekday, Ada Jenkins Center volunteers are delivering CMS School Nutrition Services’ prepackaged meals; one breakfast and one lunch meal is available per weekday for anyone under the age of 18. To get on the list to receive deliveries, please email [email protected].

Many of our regular volunteers are older - and we are encouraging them to stay home – which means we are in need of new volunteers!  If you have some free time and would like to help, please join our Standby Volunteers list.

We are grateful to the nearly 400 donors who have contributed emergency assistance funds for our client families; now the Ada Jenkins Center, itself, needs community help to keep up with the demand. As you may know, we had to postpone our annual Spring Gala, which would have provided the funding we need to support our operations through the summer. With that loss - nearly $100,000 - we have had to make some difficult cuts, including staff.

Please help us serve our families with a gift that's comfortable for you; click here to donate online. Checks may be sent to the Ada Jenkins Center at PO Box 1842; Davidson, NC  28036.

  • or with a check payable to Ada Jenkins Center; PO Box 1842; Davidson, NC  28036 – “Critical Assistance Fund” in the memo line
