A variety of volunteer opportunities are available throughout the Ada Jenkins Center for individuals, groups and families. Please visit our website to view current volunteer opportunities and volunteer application. Note: Ada Jenkins Client Partners must overcome particular obstacles in their lives, and we believe it’s important for all of our volunteers to take part in an “experience exercise” during Volunteer Training in which we share real-life examples and ask volunteers to reflect upon their impressions.
We are also seeking regular weekly volunteers for our LEARN Works Resource Center Classroom. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to share their time, experiences, and skills with children that need them! This position works with students 1st through 8th grade who have education plans such as IEPs, 504 Plans, and EL Student Plans, as well as with other students that could benefit from interventions. This role will assist specialists/instructors to reinforce concepts, strategies, and skills, incorporating accommodations, modifications, etc. Must be 16 years of age or above. Background check required. Click here to view the Resource Center Classroom Tutor role description and complete the new volunteer application.
Please email [email protected] for time details.
For the Learn/Works position, the hours are: Monday and Thursday 3:15 – 6:30 pm.
Please email [email protected] for details.
For the Learn/Works position, contact Leslie Wilson, Director of Education Services at Ada Jenkins Center, at 704-896-0471 x. 137.
