DAVIDSON COMMUNITY PLAYERS
Davidson Community Players Hold Open Auditions for Halloween Play Festival
Ready to try something new? Do you want to test the “acting” waters without committing to a full-length play? Want to have fun? If so, come out to audition for Davidson Community Players’ third annual 10-minute-play festival, Boos and Brews. Auditions will take place on Monday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. and Tuesday Oct. 1 at the Actors Lab, 20700 North Main Street, Suite 112, Cornelius. DCP needs approximately 25 actors to fill out the casts for eight original, 10-minute-plays written by community playwrights. These plays all have one major theme in common—ghoulish fun!
Actors should be prepared to read from the various scripts, move in the space, and improvise. No experience is required and we strongly encourage those with little or no previous experience to attend. Teens and up, all races, and ethnicities are welcome! Boos and Brews will be performed at the DCP Actor’s Lab in Cornelius on October 24-26. A selection of beer will be available for purchase at each performance.
Boos and Brews is produced by Davidson Community Players. It features short ten-minute plays written by regional playwrights whose works were selected by a panel of readers considering numerous submissions. Audience members will choose the best play for a cash award at the end of the production.
For further information, please contact DCP’s artistic director, Sylvia Schnople, at 704-892-7953 or her email.
