Early Voting Starts Monday (October 21) at Cornelius Town Hall
While the long-published calendar of Election 2019 information on the Mecklenburg County Board of Election states that Early Voting begins on Oct. 16, the additional details provided in the calendar shown above give important clarity to that information. Specifically, only the Hal Marshall Center in Charlotte will be open for Early Voting on October 16. All other sites – including Cornelius Town Hall – will not open until Monday, October 21. Early Voting at Cornelius Town Hall and the other “additional” early voting sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Nov. 1.
Davidson voters are able to vote at any of the early voting locations. However, on Election Day (November 5) voters are only allowed to vote at their designated precinct locations. Voters in Precinct 127 vote at Hopewell Baptist Church – 18841 Davidson-Concord Road. Voters in Precinct 206 vote at Davidson Town Hall – 216 S. Main Street. Voting hours on election day are 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m at both locations. While election results will likely be available the night of November 5, the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections website notes that the election will not be certified until Nov. 15.
Davidson also has voters who live in Iredell County. Residents of the Davidson Pointe community vote as a part of Iredell County Precinct CC4. Their polling location is Peninsula Baptist Church, located at 687 Brawley School Rd. Mooresville 28117. Those voters are eligible to vote early between Oct. 16 – Nov. 1 at the Board of Elections office at 203 Stockton Street in Statesville.
