Adopt A Reading Buddy Storytime

Davidson’s Halloween March

October 25 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Town Hall

Put on your costume and join us at town hall on Friday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m. for the Halloween March down Main Street.  Davidson’s retailers, and other participants, will be handing out treats along Main Street, starting at town hall and going down to (and including) Depot Street.  Marchers may start lining up at 4:45 p.m.

Davidson Community Players Haunts Theatre with its Festival of Ten-minute Halloween Plays.

Have a cold beer and enjoy an evening of short plays. Join Davidson Community Players for its third annual celebration of local playwrights with Boos and Brews, an evening of ten minute plays featuring eerie Halloween fun. The play festival runs October 24-26, all performances begin at 8:00 p.m.

The Davidson Farmer’s Market, Inc. (DFM) is back this week. DFM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, North Carolina. This is the 10th year of the Davidson Farmers’ Market. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only, year-round Market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. The Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. We are located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.

 

Walk with a Doc

This is the second year of Walk with a Doc. We meet on the Town Green for our walk and talk at 9:00 a.m. and the walk lasts until 10:00 a.m. WWAD is held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month through November. Join us this Saturday 10/12 on the Davidson Village Green From 9-10 am for Walk with A Doc as we Educate, Exercise, and Empower each other one step at a time. Come out and enjoy the fall weather and then get your coffee and walk around the Farmers Market. Join us this Saturday as Dr. Matt Antonelli talks about the role of Acupuncture in treating acute and chronic pain. Come as we Educate, Exercise, and Empower each other one step at a time. Also, please note the change to 1st and 3rd Saturday’s for November.

Learn about native, historic and unusual trees during this guided tour that will start at the Town Green. Bike and helmet are required. Children 11 – 15 must be accompanied by an adult. L Chance Shiver is a Science Fiction writer living on a small mountain near Asheville, North Carolina. Chance holds a B.A. in English from George Mason College of the University of Virginia. When not writing, Chance spends most of his time looking east from his mountain home to the Blue Ridge Mountains and touring the South East playing early country and Old-time music with his wife Susette as their duet, The Shivers.

Stop the Hate Rally

Come out and join your neighbors to reject hate and take a stand against hate and violence! Local community and faith organizations will be holding a Stop the Hate Rally on Saturday. The Rally will feature cultural performers and community members speaking out against hate towards people of color, Jews, Muslims, immigrants and members of the LGBTQ community and against gun violence. All who oppose hate and violence are welcome.

Davidson Film Club Presents “Marguerite”
