Water Main Break at Concord and Main

Tuesday afternoon, just before 3pm, there was a major water main break at the intersection of Main Street and Concord Road. Charlotte Water were on the scene quickly to access the damage and begin repairs.

There will be a number of detours for road traffic in the interim. A number of “road closed” and “detour” signs will be posted, as well as police officers at critical intersections to direct traffic.

For those traveling NORTHBOUND on 115, traffic will be routed to Jackson Street and back to 115 North. For those seeking to travel east to Concord Road, traffic will be diverted to Ridge Road. Be advised there is a Davidson College Men’s Basketball Game this evening beginning at 7pm, so expect delays due to game traffic.

For those traveling SOUTHBOUND on 115, traffic will be routed to Jackson Street back to 115 South. For those seeking to travel east to Concord Road, traffic will be diverted at Ridge Road. Be advised there is a Davidson College Men’s Basketball Game this evening beginning at 7pm, so expect delays due to game traffic.

Please note Depot Street at Jackson Street will be closed.

For those traveling WEST on Concord Road heading into Davidson, Concord Road will be closed at the Baker Sports Complex Entrance. Traffic will be routed through the Davidson College Campus to travel 115 North. Traffic seeking to travel on 115 South will be routed through Woodland Street.

As a reminder, Lorimer Drive is closed for Charlotte Water repairs at this time, so traffic cannot travel through Lorimer from Hillside Drive to College Drive.
