What happens to Ebenezer Scrooge’s mean, pruney old business partner Marley? Chained and shackled, Marley is condemned to a hellish eternity. He’s even given his own private tormentor: a malicious little hell-sprite who thoroughly enjoys his work. Desperate, Marley accepts his one chance to free himself and to escape his own chains, but he must first redeem Scrooge. So begins a journey in which Scrooge’s heart is opened in this irreverent, funny, and deeply moving story. Ages 8 and up.

STEAM Stories with Maura blends STEAM and literacy, using fun experiments to discuss stories and help with reading comprehension. Maura spent her high school and college years volunteering for Two Together, a one-on-one literacy tutoring program, and was a co-founder of the After-School All-Stars literacy program in Albany, NY. Maura is a freelance illustrator who is passionate about STEAM education. She is the author and illustrator of STEMINIST: a coloring book of women in STEM (pubs December 2019). Main Street Books story times are always free and open to all ages. No registration necessary.

​Join the Jewish Community and Temple Kol Tikvah on December 22, 2019 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., as we welcome the holiday of Chanukkah with a communal menorah lighting.
