NEWPORT NEWS, Va.  — Freshman Suzi-Rose Deegan continued her stellar freshman campaign by claiming yet another Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor, as the league announced today the weekly award winners for games played from Jan. 20-26.

She earned her fifth rookie of the week award, and Davidson’s sixth overall, by averaging a double-double in Davidson’s lone game of the week at Richmond, Jan. 26.

A native of Marmion, Australia, Deegan tallied her fourth double-double of the season with game highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds. She hit 6-of-13 shots overall, including 3-for-4 from behind the arc, and swished home 3-of-4 free throws.

In addition, the freshman filled the box sheet with a career-high four assists to go with two steals and a block.

Deegan has now paced the team in scoring 10 times, while leading it in rebounding in eight games. The double-digit scoring game was her team-leading 15th on the season.

Davidson stays on the road and will next travel to Rhode Island, Jan. 29, for an Education Day game at 11 a.m.
