The Davidson Farmers’ Market, Inc., is back this week. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Davidson, the Market is celebrating its 10th year as a producer-only market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers from within a 100-mile radius. Now open year-round, the Market is a lively gathering place for meeting friends and for learning about food, agriculture, and nutrition. Growers and producers are on hand to answer your questions, from “How was this grown?” to questions about how to prepare and preserve all types of foods. The Market is located next to the Davidson Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets. Parking is available on Main Street, in the Town Hall and Police Department lots, and in the Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.

The Town of Davidson’s South Street Steering Committee invites all residents to participate in tours of the South Street property, as well as public input sessions held at several locations throughout town. The committee has been charged by the board of commissioners to seek public input to assist in developing a master plan for the property located at 251 South Street. These input sessions will be done as a drop-in format, so please come out and share your ideas! NOTE: this is a tour of the property, not the school building.

Main Street Hooks is a free and open book and knitting club brought to readers by Main Street Books in partnership with Davidson’s craft store Hearts on Fiber that meets monthly for an hour of communal knitting and audiobook enjoyment. This month, Main Street Hooks will meet at Main Street Books. Hearts on Fiber staff are available at every meeting to guide beginner knitters/crocheters, while intermediate to advanced fiber crafters continue their own projects in the cozy company of fellow yarn enthusiasts and book nerds. Bookseller and knitting extraordinaire Jan Blodgett is also on site to assist with advanced knitting snafus.
