Meals to Show Appreciation for Davidson Police Officers

by | Jun 4, 2020 | News

This week and next, on Wednesday and Thursday, (June 3 and 4 and June 10 and 11), our Davidson Police Officers will be dining on homemade goodies for breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast will be delivered between 6 and 7 a.m. and lunch will be delivered between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.to the Davidson Police Department. There will be eight officers on duty this week and seven officers on duty next week.

Jody Kurtz, the organizer, has worked closely with Crystal Russell (whose husband Corporal Scott Russell is a Davidson police officer), the founder of the “Adopt-a-Cop” program. See the News of Davidson article from July 21, 2019 to read more about the Adopt-a-Cop program. They want our police officers to know how much our town appreciates them.

Jody and her husband, Matt, have two young sons, and there is a bucket on their front porch filled with notes from children thanking police officers for their service. The sons have been encouraging their friends to write notes, too.

If you would like to contact Jody about this effort, you can reach her at her email.

Three cheers for our Davidson Police and for the breakfast and lunch crews showing our officers our appreciation.
