Big news for Davidson Farmers’ Market

The Davidson Farmers Market will reopen, in two phases, starting Saturday, June 27.

Since DFM’s closure, we have been supporting and facilitating off-site pick-ups and preorders to keep our vendors and shoppers connected. During this time many vendors have found preorders to be a successful option for shoppers and DFM wanted to continue this and incorporate it into DFM’s regular operations. Additionally, DFM will temporarily be located only in the Jackson Street Parking Lot and surrounding area while the Town of Davidson completes construction on the parking lot and the green space by Summit Coffee.

This means DFM will be in a smaller location, for a while, which requires a brand new layout and map. To allow everyone, both vendors and shoppers, to get acquainted with the new layout and proper social distancing DFM is implementing a two phase reopening. Phase One starts Saturday, June 27thand is for preorder pick-up only (almost all vendors are offering preorder options), and Phase Two starts Saturday, July 11th with a fully open market for both preorder pickup AND at market shopping.

In the coming weeks, there will be lots of information regarding how to preorder, DFM’s social distancing protocols for safe shopping, brand new signage to help direct shoppers, and a map with the new layout and vendor locations. Additionally, we will have many volunteers on hand to help shoppers during the market. All of this will be communicated via our newsletter, social media, and website.

We are excited to be back soon and look forward to the new layout, look, and offerings but more importantly we are excited to see everyone back together again on our Saturday mornings.

I want to personally thank everyone who has helped during the closure. Your support, patience, positive emails, encouragement, and willingness to come together to get DFM back up and running has meant a lot to me, the Board of Directors, and our vendors.

See you all very soon!

Happy eating,
Justin

A BIG thank you to everyone that has donated to our Give $10 Save 40campaign. Your support has helped tremendously give DFM the ability to reopen on June 27th and continue to operate for years to come. We are just $2,000 away from our goal! If you can help us reach our goal, please donate today!
