Main Street Books and its “Spread Love. Read Books” T-Shirts
A few weeks ago, Main Street Books sent out a message to the community. “Help us fill our store window with hearts in a rainbow of colors.”
Adah Fitzgerald, the owner of this local business, was overwhelmed with the response from the community. “During quarantine, we filled our store windows with a rainbow of hearts that was a stunning example of community collaboration.
“Main Street Books has lived in the old general store on Main Street in Davidson since 1987. During our COVID-19 quarantine closure, we asked locals to cut out hearts in rainbow colors for our rainbow window design. The result was a stunning rainbow made all the more poignant by the many hands that made and delivered the hears through our old, brass mail slot. It brought hundreds of tiny moments of joy to passers-by. The t-shirts help us remember the joy that can be sown in times of duress. Our vision is to inspire a more informed and creative community that celebrates diversity and discovery.”
In order to carry the spirit of those hearts into the future, the t-shirt has a picture of the storefront and the words, “Spread Love. Read Books.” There are several colors and styles available. This is a print on-demand fundraiser for the store. Shirt orders must be placed before July 12, 2020. Orders will arrive between July 22 and July 30, 2020.
