KiShawn Pritchett shared the following note on social media – seeking support for his upcoming work for a nonprofit in Rwanda. While he has achieved his initial goal, all gifts will support the important work of Shooting Touch.

I am excited to share with you that I will be joining a nonprofit, Shooting Touch, as part of their fellowship program in Rwanda this fall.

Shooting Touch is an international sport-for-development organization that uses the power of sport, to educate and empower youth, women and their communities to live a healthier life. In Rwanda, Shooting Touch serves over 1,300 youth, ages 7-21, and 750 women 21+ in six (6) rural communities in the Republic of Rwanda’s Eastern and Northern Provinces.

Each year the Shooting Touch program in Rwanda is facilitated by fellows who have the desire to give back using the game of basketball. I am beyond excited to have been select as one of only a couple fellows that will be heading out there to embark on an 11-month journey over the next year.

As a fellow, I will be living and serving in Shooting Touch communities where I will assist with constructing courts, building teams and training coaches to run Rwanda’s first and only free youth league for girls and boys. Alongside their team of local coaches, I will also deliver Shooting Touch’s custom designed on/off-court health-education curriculum, organize health awareness events and much more. As part of my fellowship, I have been asked to raise $4,000 to contribute to the wonderful work being done by Shooting Touch. Your donation would contribute to:

$20 – Provides a family of 5 health insurance for 1 year

$50 – Provides one person a year for basketball league

$100 – Provides one-person basketball league, health education, health testing, and health insurance for a year

$200 – Provides one kid to go through our 3-month Female Empowerment Course or our 2-month Pathways to a Better Future course

$500 – Provides an entire team equipment, game day snacks/water, travel, etc. for a year

$1,000 – sponsor one family day with health testing

If you can support KiShawn’s efforts and the larger work of Shooting Touch, donate here.
