Today (July 22) is the Mecklenburg County Complete Counts Committee’s “Census Day of Action.”

And even in the midst of the pandemic there are things that you can do to help encourage neighbors in Davidson to complete the Census 2020. Please take the time to post an image, even this article on your social media. Use the hashtag #MakeMeckCount. 

And since you likely have friends who aren’t on social media, let this be an excuse for you to call somebody. You could also email them. Do you belong to a community association? Share it with your neighbors. Do you belong to a book club? Share it

Remind folks that you can complete the census online, by phone, [English: (844) 330-2020; Spanish (844) 468-2020] or by mail. There are 14 other language supported at the Census with individual phone lines. Those numbers can be found at the following link.

The Town of Davidson currently has a 68.3% response rate. And that is pretty darn good, since the Census Bureau has been delayed in the door-to-door portion of following up with residents who haven’t responded. That effort is currently expected to start next month and continue through October.
