Wildcats’ Men’s Basketball Conference Pairings Announced
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – On Thursday, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2020-21 men’s basketball schedule pairings and for the seventh consecutive season the 14 league members will play an 18-game conference slate.
In addition to the league celebrating its 45th anniversary, each school will play every conference foe once, and five teams twice for a total of 126 conference games this season.
Davidson, which is 69-39 (11.5 wins per year) in A-10 regular season games since joining the league in 2014-15, will play home/home series with Duquesne, Fordham, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph’s and VCU.
The Wildcats, who captured the 2015 regular season crown in their inaugural league campaign and the tournament title three years later, will also host Dayton, George Washington, Richmond and St. Bonaventure while traveling to George Mason, La Salle, Massachusetts and Saint Louis.
Coming off its 19th straight season with a winning record, Davidson returns four starters from last year’s team, including three-time all-conference performer Kellan Grady, who finished fifth among conference leaders in scoring at 17.2 points per game.
Despite last year’s postseason play being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship returns to The Barclays Center March 10-14 in Brooklyn, N.Y. The league is also scheduled to host the 2021 NCAA East Regional at Barclays Center, March 26 and 28.
The complete 2020-21 conference schedule with dates and times as well as national television information will be released later in the year.
