This Week at Davidson Farmers Market: August 22

by | Aug 20, 2020 | Davidson Farmers Market, News, Nonprofits

Herrs Flowers recently featured sunflower bouquets.

Hello DFM Shoppers,

I’m delighted to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you as the new Market Coordinator. My name is Courtney Spear and I’ll be working alongside our Market Director Justin, as we serve as the two staff members for the Davidson Farmers Market. My role is to manage market day logistics, including customer relations and vendor engagement. I am one of the many green shirts that you see on Saturday mornings, typically found at the entrance of the Market or floating around taking pictures and checking in with our farmers and vendors. Please know that I’m happy to listen if there’s something you want to share with me about the Market.

It’s been an exciting whirlwind since I started just a few months ago, as I stepped in with helping to re-open the Market for Phase I, and then Phase II. It’s been inspiring to be a part of the team that has helped bring the Market back to life. There’s been an outpouring of gratitude from our farmers and vendors; appreciation from our customers; an influx of support from our community members to volunteer; and a committed Board of Directors that guides us. Thank you!

We will continue to strive to provide the safest shopping experience for everyone, which is why it’s so important to follow our procedures and traffic flow. In just a month and a half, I can see that all of us are becoming more accustomed to the new process and rhythm of the Market. Just know that we put a lot of thought, energy, and passion into the decisions we make from weekly pre-market planning and communication to early morning setup, customer and vendor experience and post market debriefings.

We are back again this week with tables filled with fruits and veggies, mushrooms, meats, fish, cheese, honey, donuts, breads, croissants, popcorn, prepared foods, flowers, soaps and…Bleu Barn Bistro Food Truck!

Looking forward to seeing your masked faces at the Market this Saturday!

Courtney
