VOICES OF DAVIDSON

HOMETOWN HERO: Lindsey Williams

by | Aug 24, 2020 | Voices of Davidson

Lindsey Williams is the owner and operator of Davidson Wine Co. Lindsey is a lawyer turned winemaker who lives in Davidson with her husband, Aerik, son Max, and her Frenchton, named Simone. Born and raised in Ohio, she discovered a deep appreciation of wine later in life. Davidson Wine Co. was started out of the desire to bring affordable and locally made wine options to the town.

“Located within Davidson’s historic business district, Davidson Wine Co. was once an organ making shop. You will see the rich history reflected throughout our space. We offer wine tasting, wine drinking, bottling parties, and more! You can even design your own custom label,” says Williams.

Tell me about your day job.

I am the owner and winemaker at Davidson Wine Co.

How did you uncover this passion?

I have always loved wine and became even more enamored with the wine making process on a trip to Tuscany in Italy.

What inspires you every day?

I am inspired by my family, team, and the community we serve. It has been incredible to see the outpouring of support and because of this, my goal is to make Davidson Wine Co. better every day.

What are your challenges and speed bumps along the way?

How much time do we have? Alcohol licensing and regulation is extremely challenging in the State of NC. Bringing the urban winery concept here has not been easy. The pandemic and resulting shutdown was devastating and has presented many challenges.

Secrets to staying motivated and positive?

Luckily as a fairly new company, there is always a “next project” to keep us motivated. Being shut down for two and a half months during the pandemic has taught me to really be thankful for everything, the good and the bad.

How can Davidson residents best support you?

We are open for both inside and patio dining Tuesday through Sunday. Come and see us! Curbside carryout is also available via our website.
