COVID-19 has changed everything. The financial needs of many individuals and families in the Lake Norman community remain great. To help the Ada Jenkins Center assist the families in our community who are struggling with job loss and housing instability, the Center is holding a
virtual non-gala gala at 6:45 pm on Saturday, October 17.

Registration is now open – at no cost –  for “A Show of Strength: an online benefit for the Ada Jenkins Center, Presented by Novant Health,” which will feature a message from the Center’s new CEO, Harold E. Rice, Jr.; a spotlight on how the Center has pivoted services in the wake of COVID-19; and a profile of one of the many hard-working people who receive support from the Ada Jenkins Center.

Due to COVID-19, the Center had to cancel its Roaring ‘20s fundraising gala, planned for March 2020. The Show of Strength will help replace funding lost by the canceled gala. Once participants register for free, they’ll receive more information about the upcoming Show of Strength festivities, including a week-long online silent auction with “buy now” options and a daily 3pm “premier” auction item.

The first 100 registrants will be entered into a drawing for a $500 Home Depot Gift Card.  No purchase necessary.

The Ada Jenkins Center has stood in Davidson for more than 80 years as a hub for education and community services in northern Mecklenburg County. With services including a medical clinic, dental clinic, food pantry, workforce development, child and adult education, and social work case management, we help people in our community create lasting solutions for economic stability. Last year, we served nearly 1,500 individuals and families. To learn more, visit our website.
